Elaine Walker
Elaine is an experienced civil and commercial litigator who specializes in a broad range of litigation matters including construction disputes, banking matters, professional negligence, property repossessions and debt collection. She has considerable experience in successfully resolving disputes by way of mediation, as well as taking matters through to trial and enforcement.
Representative work:
- Acting for the UK subsidiary of a US software company in a dispute over ownership of a source code
- Successfully defended a UK company on a winding up petition instigated by German tax authorities over substantial amount of VAT allegedly owed in Germany
- Acting for the UK subsidiary of a US biotechnology company in a claim against a shipping company who had lost over 2 tons worth of client products
- Conducting depositions as an agent on behalf of entities outside the jurisdiction
Elaine received her Bachelor of Laws at Surrey University in 2004 and successfully completed her Legal Practice Diploma at Nottingham Law School in 2005. She was admitted as a solicitor of England and Wales in 2008 and practiced for over three years. She was called to the Cayman Islands Bar as an attorney-at-law in January 2012. Elaine also speaks Cantonese.
